Georg Wimmer, cheesemaker of the eponymous Handkäserei Georg Wimmer, knows what he is talking about. He produces his cheese exclusively from raw milk from the surrounding dairy farmers in the beautiful Tennengau region of Salzburg Land. In addition to his own production for his cheese farm shop on the grounds of the Landwirtschaftliche Fachschule Winklhof, Georg Wimmer produces cheese for direct marketers. This gives dairy farmers the opportunity to sell their own cheese from the farm. The Handkäserei offers a fine selection of home-made dairy products such as curd cheese, yoghurt and butter.
